Crafts

Aerya LOVES to make crafts. We go to the Dollar Stores most weeks and pick out some new supplies.

She will spend about an hour at a time gluing, cutting, sticking, painting and coloring on any paper surface she can find.

I Want to Dress Up Today!

Aerya has gotten to that delightful age where she wants to dress up all pretty. On this particular day, she asked to wear her favorite dress (we were only going to the grocery store), with nailpolish and 14 barrettes.

And the results? Beautiful!

Dance Class

This Fall Aerya started Dance class and she just loves it! It's mostly ballet, with some jazz and free dance thrown it.

She goes every Saturday with Grandma and always comes home super excited to show us her new moves.

Morning Crafts

Every morning Aerya and I spend about an hour doing crafts. She has gotten so creative and detail oriented. It's great to watch her doing something that requires concentration and an attention to detail (unlike her usual running around like a crazy person.)

Aerya's favorite room is "my" scrapbooking room. I've devoted one desk to her craft supplies and she spends hours in there creating masterpieces.

We recently bought new supplies and Aerya has become addicted to glitter glue and googly eyes!

Playdoh is always done in the kitchen as it's easier to vacuum up the little bits. Aerya's favorite is the hair salon - but I have to admit, it's my favorite too. She also cuts out animal shapes and carries them around for a while showing them to everyone. We also have the icecream shop, but it's really too fussy to actually be any fun.

The Backyardigans in Concert

We went with the Gobles to watch The Backyardigans at the Jube. During the first half of the show, Aerya was completely frozen in her seat and Madison was happily dancing along. We then moved from our assigned seats (gasp) for the second half and then the girls spent most of their time running around.

It was a neat experience for the girls, except for this annoying Octopus that they put into the show. She had the squeekiest high pitched voice that just grated on every parent's nerves! The Backyardigans were helping a seahorse (???) find her little brother who was trapped by the evil octopus. Thankfully everything worked out in the end. Fewf.

And here's the two sweeties saying goodbye to each other after dinner. Too cute!
