A Sad Goodbye

We had to give Keeley the cat away to another home because Aerya is allergic to her. This was something we weren't expecting, but thankfully Keeley is going to a good home and hopefully Aerya won't be too sad about it. Maybe when she's older we can try another pet, but for now, it's just the three of us.

Aerya Crawls

Aerya has finally figured out the forward crawl. She just did it one night about 2 weeks ago, and hasn't stopped since.
She is completely mobile now, so small animals, paper, and dustbunnies beware!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year (as always). We stayed over at Grandma and Grandpa Huggatt's Christmas eve with Auntie Amber, Uncle Steven, their friend Santiago, and Uncle Chad. Then on Christmas morning, Grandma & Grandpa Smith came over for the opening of the presents and dinner. Aerya got a unicorn rocking horse, and exersaucer and lots of clothes and toys. However, her favorite thing on Christmas day was this shiny blue piece of wrapping paper!

Aerya can sit!

Aerya sat up all by herself for the first time this week. It's a bit awkward to watch, but look how proud she is of herself!

Aerya at Six Months

Aerya is now six months old. She has mastered rolling from her tummy to her back, and then back onto her tummy again. She moves around the room in chase of Keeley the cat in this way. Aerya is trying to crawl by pulling her knees up under her and pushing. So far she’s only been able to scoot backwards, but crawling won’t be far behind. Aerya has waved bye-bye (once), and pulled herself to standing (once as well, but still)!

We started solid food this month, and so far Aerya has had rice and barley cereals, peas, carrots and bananas. The barley and the bananas left much to be desired, but Aerya really liked the others.

Aerya got her first tooth this past month (bottom right). It was quite a surprise because she didn’t fuss over it, stop nursing, or drool overly much. The second one (bottom left) caused a bit more trouble, but still wasn’t all that bad.
