Fun at the Cabin
Just some cute pics from our trip. We're planning to go back this summer if anyone's interested... http://www.micamountainlodge.bc.ca/
At the Cabin
Road Trip!
For Derek & my's 5th anniversary, we went to a cabin near Mt. Robson Park, which we had visited on our honeymoon. The car trip took MUCH longer this time. We had to stop in Edmonton to let her out, and then in the middle of the highway even before Edson. Then she cried for 20 mins straight and then went to sleep for the rest.
We (read I) waited in Edmonton for 2 hours after we were supposed to have left for a tray for the carseat. My vision was Aerya using the tray to play with her toys. Reading her books on it. Eating her food on it... This was the only happy pic with it. She hated it. Great waste of time. As a result, we didn't get there until midnight (though there was a time change so it was technically 11pm). And of course, Aerya woke up when we tried to bring her into the cabin, so we were up until 2am.
Deer in the headlights? Nope, that's Paddles. We weren't actually going to hit her.
We tried to keep her close, but she just wanted to run, run, run. (Don't worry, it was on a side country road off the highway with 10 feet of grass before the highway.
Aerya's Truck.
We went to Toys R Us to buy a shelf for Aerya's room and she spotted this truck. And then she became possessive of the truck. She wouldn't let other kids come near it. And the one time she crawled out to look at a different car, another little girl went into the truck. Let's just say that Aerya won and not go into the gory details. Oh, and in typical toddler fashion, once we got home the box was more interesting!
Delinquent Blogger
I know, I've been a terrible blogger. You've been waiting. You've been begging. You stopped looking.
Well, here's what you asked for!

Pantry Time
In many parenting situations, you must weigh the pros and cons of your child's actions. Here is a great example.
Hmm, one hour of a happy Paddles...tons of mess. Tons of mess...totally cute pics. It wasn't even close!
I needed to get some housework done (no, I'm not kidding) and Aerya is usually underfoot the whole time. However, today she managed to keep herself occupied (without "Pabooooo" or any TV at all) for over an hour. That being said, the way she did it was by dumping an entire can of hot chocolate mix on the floor, and then dig in it like "Who can dig? Moles can dig! Can you?" from one of her favorite books. Plus, she then got into two boxes of cereal and proceeded to sprinkle their contents all over the pantry and livingroom floor.
